These coaching sessions are designed for you if you are already teaching dog training in some form and want to increase your experience of teaching scentwork. This could be in order to add a new service to your business. Or you could be working to become a Talking Dogs Scentwork® Elite Trainer so that you can deliver the TDS scent workshops to your clients. These workshops have been honed over many years and have been both the backbone and the inspiration for everything that has come after. They are precious to me and I don't let just anyone deliver them. But when I do give a trainer the green light to teach them, you know that you are truly an important member of the TDS family. You are an Elite Trainer!
Whatever your goals, I am here to help you reach them. Here's how:
Elite Trainer package
This package is open to all scentwork trainers. But it is a requirement for becoming a TDS Elite Trainer. It is essential for me to know colleagues who I allow to teach my precious TDS workshops. By maintaining close communication over a 3 month period, we can really get to know each other.
This package gives you a 1 hour Zoom meeting every 2 weeks for 3 months. This let's us set goals, address challenges as soon as they arise and move forward at the right time. We can keep in touch by email between sessions and you will be asked to send me videos of you teaching and working dogs that I can review. We can then discuss my observations and work together to enhance the great stuff and improve the areas that need work.
You can talk to me about how you are getting on with the How to Teach Scentwork course (graduation is required to become at TDS Elite Trainer). You can feedback how your teaching is going, adapt lessons to your real life teaching environment and brainstorm future lesson plans.
And of course, if you've not yet achieved Accredited Handler certification (required in order to become a TDS Elite Trainer) I'm happy to coach you on that too. I can suggest areas where you might need more learning, recommend resources to help you with that, and help you assess when you are ready to go for it! I won't give you all the answers or give away any hints that will guarantee that you will become a TDS AH. Part of the process is self-assessment, you picking the right time to move forward, you having the knowledge to make those judgement calls. But I will be there helping you prepare and willing you on to do your very best.
Included in this coaching package is membership to the Scent Seeker Community (value £60+) This lasts for the duration of the package. Of course, if you reach the required standards and I invite you to become a TDS Elite Trainer, your Scent Seeker Membership will continue to run as long as you remain part of our trainer subscription scheme.
If by the end of the package we agree that we work well together and that you have the required skills, knowledge and understanding to become a TDS Elite Trainer, I will ask you to complete a formal application form. If I am happy with that I will give you my endorsement to become at TDS Elite Trainer.
You can book this package as often as you need. You set the time frame for achieving your goals, you are in charge. Sometimes life gets in the way of our plans. Or you might not be quite as ready as you thought to start on your next adventure. Whatever your situation, you set the agenda, the time frame, the progress.

I'm the founder and director of Talking Dogs Scentwork®. I've been teaching people and their dogs for 30 years and am dedicated to helping fellow trainers spread the love of scentwork to their clients. Great teaching takes more than learning a technique or a system, or even working operationally as a detector dog handler. Understanding the needs of your clients and knowing how to work to help them achieve their goals is an oft overlooked skill.
Throughout my professional life I have always shared my knowledge with colleagues and have been honoured by the many trainers who have come to learn from me. I've taught and trained with the best and I can't wait to share my experience to help you be your best.
How does it all work?
It's so easy!
Start by filling in the intake form that let's me know a little about your scentwork experience and what you'd like to achieve from the coaching.
Once you submit that I can then review your information to see if we could be a good fit to work together. If so, I'll approve your application. Then you'll receive an email with a link to the check-out page where you can select which coaching product you'd like - a single session or the 3 month package. Hit the 'Buy now' button, pay and then you are all set.
The next step is to book your first session. You pick the date and time which I will then see. Then I can set up a Zoom meeting for us to get together. You will see that in this space we can send each other messages, I can check in to see how you are getting on, set assignments and keep in touch. This is our private space where we can work together to achieve your goals.
I taylor the coaching specifically to you so that you never have to worry about rushing or feeling pressured. I'm here for you and want you to succeed. So let's get started!

In a word, no! While I obviously favour TDS methods and ethos, I'm happy to work with you no matter what type of scentwork training you're teaching.
